I like WW2 era planes, they were sturdier, could land on a dirt road, paved road, grass, maybe even sand, and these new jet fighters can land only on specially made airfields for them.

#1625 Joke of the day

Posted by pkozukova on 30 January 2015 - 10:36 AM

Guys,

Let`s have some laugh...

A blonde, a redhead, and a brunette were all lost in the desert. They found a lamp and rubbed it. A genie popped out and granted them each one wish. The redhead wished to be back home. Poof! She was back home. The brunette wished to be at home with her family. Poof! She was back home with her family. The blonde said, "Awwww, I wish my friends were here."

I would definetly want to play the Battle of the Kursk but it was a massive battle with tanks minefields AT strongpoints and more.I don't know if you could recreate something as big as this in the game.Of course you can always make it more...........limited. ;)

#2028 Ground recon forces are opening with BRDM-2

Posted by nikolay on 09 August 2015 - 08:47 AM

Getting information about enemy disposition and strength is key element to determine combat approach and tactics. On the ground reconnaissance-in-force is your best bet to achieve better battlefield awareness. We have dedicated units to fulfill this role. Player and AI can use their superior detection range and high mobility to gain critical intelligence on both strategic and tactical level.
First in-game operational unit in this class is the BRDM-2 armored car.

BRDM-21.png

Designed in the former Soviet Union in the 60s it saw widespread use in more than 30 counties with numerous modifications and upgrades. BRDM-2 has excellent cross-country mobility and amphibious capability. However, its thin steel welded armor offers limited protection only against small arms. GAZ-41 140hp gasoline engine is fuel hungry and susceptible to catch fire if hit. Armament consists of heavy 14.5mm KPVT machine gun and 7.62mm PKT coaxial general-purpose machine gun. BRDM-2 has crew of 4 and can carry 2 passengers.

#2010 Motorized formation and transports roles

Posted by nikolay on 11 July 2015 - 04:42 PM

First vehicle that was added to transport class is Ural-375D. It’s a general purpose 6x6, 4.5 ton truck with top speed of 76km/h. Ural-375 can transport troops, tow artillery pieces or trailers with max weight of 10t. It also severed as a main platform for BM-21 rocket artillery.

Productions run for 30 years from 1961 to 1991 with many still in service in former Warsaw Pack countries.

You could check that short video on how it work in War Cabinet

Importance of highly mobile units and combined arms was recognized since the WWII

Ability to quickly move man, equipment and supplies is critical for modern warfare. In order to quickly reinforcement’s key positions or to exploit gaps in enemy defense one would need high mobility.

Ural-375D.png

Trucks become the workhorse of the army motorized infantry, tower artillery, logistic and supply units.

Now we have that included into the game to be used for your advantage or to be surprised by quick enemy relocation.

#1917 We got a tank

Posted by nikolay on 18 April 2015 - 02:50 PM

War Cabinet has a new armored vehicle. It is robust, mass-produced and cheap.

The T-55 medium tank is going to form the bulk of armored forces for the House of Green.

Although T-55 might look vastly outdated and under gunned, but this tank is become the most produced for a reason.  The decent reliability, armor, maneuverability and affordable prices made it preferred choice for more than 50+ armies during the second part of 20th century.

Screenshot is uploaded in the gallery section and short video is available at: https://www.youtube....h?v=TjkFUVbDU0o

Which tank do you think will be T-55’s major competitor on the War Cabinet battlefield?
