Have you experienced close combat in any war game? What kind of weapons you have used in close combat? Do you think that if the officers of your army should posses such specialized skills?

Would you enjoy a scenrio in War Cabinet with close combat between you and the enemy units?

I think that every officer should posses tactical, strategical and fighting skills. He should be in the best shape possible and in the final decisive battle could turn the tides in the critical moment. This could make such encounters in the game a better experience.

The only close combat I have really experience is in FPS games where you simply knife them or hit them etc, but they die instantly, unrealistic. There are some close combat in strategy games such as Men of War but it is lifeless and also unrealistic. Close combat should be bloody and brutal with men screaming etc, but shouldn't be over the top. Men have bayonets, make use of it is what I say

In War Cabinet close combat will apply at "narrow" spaces on the tactical map.

Usually these would be villages and urban areas.

Special care need to be taken there or prepare yourself for damage rolling on.

As example infantry units will be especially good with this.
